This special trip offer the most beautiful natural landscapes in the North with spectacular passes and unforgetable mountain sceneries, lovely ethnic people and more attractive of stunning season of terraced rice fields stretching in yellow. Trekking route make you love it all the time with special emotions. Besides, you have opportunity to explore unique culture of hill tribes.
Day 1 : Ha Noi – Sapa
Meals : lunch, dinner / Accommodation: Hotel in Sapa.
The private car and tour guide pick up you at your hotel, depart for Sapa. We drive 300 km via Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway.
Have lunch in local restaurant
The car take you to Ma Tra village ( the village of H’mong people, less touristy ). We do trekking from Ma Tra village to Ta Phin village through rolling hills and narrow trails. You can see locals working in the fields, women weaving and make handicrafts. Passing lush rice terraces, vegetable farms, flowers fields that offer more authentic and peacefull vibe.
Take herbal bath ( your expense ) – a traditional red Dao treatment.
Check in hotel and have dinner in Sapa town.
Day 2 : Sapa Trekking
Meals : breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation :homestay.
Today, we trek about 12 km from Sapa town – Sa seng – Hang Da – Hau Thao – Giang Ta Chai is one of the off-the-beaten-path treks in the Sapa region, offering spectacular mountain views, terraced rice fields, and deep cultural immersion. This route takes you through various Hmong and Red Dao ethnic minority villages, each with its own charm.
We trek up hill through narrow trails less tourists, sometimes rocky paths, passing small hamlet of black H’mong people to Sa Seng with the views surrounding. Keep trekking up to Hang Da villages get expansive of Muong Hoa valley, especially on clear days. The trek offer beautiful views of valley drops, mist often, rice terraces, cornfileds, forest patches, mountains, streams.
Have lunch in local restaurant
Head down toward Hau Thao and Giang Ta Chai, another Black Hmong village nestled amid dramatic rice terraces.
This section of the trek winds through valleys and ridges, giving alternating views of farmland and forest.

Day 3 : Sapa – Mu Cang Chai
Meals : breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation : private room in homestay.
After breakfast, we say farewell to the host of homestay.
Drive via O Quy Ho pass, with the height 2000 metter above sea level, Viet Nam‘s highest mountain pass and considered the most beautiful stretch of road in the country. From here, you can enjoy the beautiful areas of Heaven’s Gate, amazing views from Hoang Lien Son mountain ranges and silver Waterfall en route.
Have lunch on the way
When we reach Mu Cang Chai, we trek up to Mong Ngua terraced rice field ( horse – shoe ) passing through pine tree forest. You admire panoramic views of Nam Kim river, Mu Cang Chai town below and stunning rice terraces winding around the mountains. Continue to Sang Nhu village, a H,Mong settlement on narrow trails
Visit Mo De bamboo forest and a traditional house to learn about their lives and surroundings
Descend 5 km on steep roads to Thai village where we stay overnight
Day 4 : Mu Cang Chai Trekking
Meals : breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation : private room in homestay.
After breakfast, we do trekking about 12 km ( Thai village – Hang Dang De – Kim Noi – Dinosaur Pine ) is the most spectacular and off beaten path trekking route in the northen Viet Nam with unforgettable views of mountains and rice terraces.
Trek up hill on small roads to Hang Dang De village, home of black Hmong people. You walk past bamboo groves, vegetable gardens, and early views of the terrace system. Continue trekking on small trials surrounded by high mountains, waterfalls, terraced rice fields to Kim Noi village.
Have picnic lunch on the way
You pass through small hamlets, water buffalo trails, and ancient stone walls. Reach Dinosaur Pine, you get panoramic views of 5 villages and famous terraced fields of La Pan Tan and Che Cu Nha.
Descend 3 km to main road and get on the car to go back homestay
Day 5 : Mu Cang Chai – Khau Pha Pass – Ha Noi
Meals : breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation : not included.
We have breakfast and say goodbye homestay. We have short trek to raspberry hill, the most photographed terraced field in Vietnam.
Driving up to conquer Khau Pha Pass ( one of 4 greatest pass in North Viet Nam ). On the top of Khau Pha pass, enjoy stunning view of terrace rice fields, valleys, hill tribe villages. Keep driving to Tu Le and take bathing in hot springs.
Drive back Ha Noi
Drop off you in hotel. Tour end.
Note :
Rice season in the North – WestViet Nam from July to October ( only one season ) to enjoy goden terraced rice fields from mid September to October but mountainous Views are spectacular all year around
Homestay in Giang Ta Chai are on the second floor. It is large communal area. You will sleep with a single soft mattress, blanket, pillow, mosquito net. The restroom is few steps from main house with international standard
