Ha Giang – Ban Gioc waterfall – Ba Be lake

This trip bring most special impression. Ha Giang with Dong Van karst pleatau is global geopark by Unesco with unforgetable landscapes. It blend winding mountain passes, deep valleys, towering cliffs, terraced rice fields . While Ban Gioc is largest and the most stunning waterfall in Asia like great picturesque painting. Ba Be lake is largest fresh water lake on limstone mountain in Viet Nam. You have different experiences about customs, rich cultures, foods of hill tribes.
Day 1: Ha Noi – Ha Giang – Quan Ba
Meals: lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Bungalow in Nam Dam village
At 7.30 AM. The tour guide and private car pick up you at your hotel in Ha Noi. It take 6 hours to drive 330 km to Quan Ba. Enjoy scenery of peaceful countysides, tea plantations, mountains, rivers
Have lunch in street restaurant on the way
We will drive through windy road to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, where you can stop for great pictures of the impressive twin mountains (fairy bosom)
Trekking about 2 hours from Quan Ba heaven gate down to Nam Dam village through terraced hills, lush fields, traditional houses of Dao people.
Dinner and overnight in homestay of Dao people. You have opportunity talk to friendly host to learn about lifestyle, culture of Dao people.
Day 2 : Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Nho Que River – Meo Vac
Meals : breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Hoa Cuong hotel
Today, we drive on happiness road through 4 districts (MEO VAC, DONG VAN, YEN MINH, QUAN BA). You will explore Dong Van rocky plateau with 80% of the area is covered by limestone, formed over 400 million years through different geological periods. The landscape is trully majestic, with dramatic cliffs, terraced rice fields, winding mountain passes, and deep valleys.
After breakfast, We drive up and down on winding & curving passes with incredible views. You conquer slope of 3 consecutive bends, slope of 9 consecutive bends. It is famous for its deep and tighly curved.
Explore Moon stone field. It is truly strange landscape – so rocky and barren
Visit King Palace of H’Mong people. It is approximately one-hundred-year-old which combined in 3 architectures H’Mong, Chiness and French.
Have lunch in local restaurant and pass through Dong Van town.
Drive up to Ma Pi Leng pass, it is 20 km and known as King of Passes in Viet Nam. Trekking on sky path is the most dramatic and scenic trail in Dong Van stone pleatau with expansive views of Tu San Canyon and Nho Que river deep below.
Boat trip in Nho Que river, pass through Tu San canyon – deepest one in southeast Asia. It is unique beautiful scene with river, mountain, canyon.
Dinner and overnight in Meo Vac town
Day 3 : Meo Vac – Me Pja ( 14 storeys ) Pass – Cao Bang
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: hotel in Cao Bang
Have breakfast and check out hotel.
Visit Meo Vac Sunday market – not only trading point but also meeting place of local ethnic minorities in the region. You will be impressed with colorful traditional clothes of hill tribles such as: H’mong, Dao, Giay, Lo Lo, Tay…( only happen on Sunday)
Note: If you miss the Sunday market in Meo Vac, a trip to another Market can be arranged depending on the departure date.
We say farewell to Dong Van global geopark, drive on nation way 34 to Cao Bang geopark. Pass through green pine forest, ethinic villages.
Have lunch in street restaurant.
Visit 14 level pass is a spectacular and relatively lesser-known mountain pass, known for its dramatic scenery and challenging curves. Hiking up to the view point where you can see the view of the Pass
Keep driving on national way 4A, enjoy scenery of green forests, terrace fields.
Check in hotel and have dinner in Cao Bang .
Day 4 : Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Nguom Ngao cave – Ba Be
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: homestay in Pac Ngoi village
Have breakfast and check out hotel
Drive to Trung Khanh, enjoy the view of Cao Bang global geopark.
Visit Ban Gioc waterfall, a great picturesque natural painting
Explore Nguom Ngao Cave which stretches out 2,144 meters underground and is brimming with incredible stalactites and stalagmites.
Have luch in local restaurant
Drive through 4 passes to Ba Be lake with stunning views of mountains, valleys on the way. Sometimes we stop for rest and photos
Check in homestay and have special dinner with the host
Note: Homestay is still house of Tay people, you sleep on 2nd floor in private room with single soft mattress, blanket, pillow and mosquito net. The restroom is at international standard and a few steps from your room
Day 5: Ba Be lake – Ha Noi
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: not included
Wake up to breath fresh air, have breakfast.
Ride a bike in Pac Ngoi village to enjoy stunning scenery of lush forest, river, rice fields surrounded by towering limestome. Stop to meet Tay people and learn about their dailylife, customs, cultures
Take a motor boat trip in Ba Be lake and Nang river, you admire stunning view of emerald waters surrounded by pristine forests, ethnic minority villages—offers a peaceful experience in nature .
Visit Puong cave where you can explore the stalactites and stalagmites which are a result of the erosion of the river on the karst .
Trek to visit Dau Dang waterfall.
Have lunch and drive back to Hanoi, taking in the beautiful scenery on the way.
Drop off you in your hotel.
