Hoang Su Phi is 270 far from Ha Noi in the Northeast of Viet Nam. It is one of Viet Nam’ most breathtaking and untouched destinations. Unlike other touristy destination, Hoang Su Phi retains a raw, untouched charm, perfect for those seeking adventure, nature, and authentic cultural experiences. It is famous for dramatic terraced rice fields, recognized a national heritage site and offers a unique combination of spectacular landscapes and rich ethnic diversity.
Day 1 : Ha Noi – Hoang Su Phi – Thong Nguyen – Nam Hong
Meals: lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Hoang Su Phi Bungalow
07.30 AM : The private car and tour guide will pick up you at your hotel. We depart for Hoang Su Phi via Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway and Number 2 national way. You see rice paddies, cassava and tea plantations, rivers, mountains on the way. Somtime, we stop for photos and rest.
Have lunch in local restaurant
We arrive Thong Nguyen hamlet in Hoang Su Phi early afternoon. We trek about 5 – 6 km from Thong Nguyen – Giang Ha – Nam Hong. You follow small trail, come to waterfall. Continue the trek to Giang Ha through lush forest, village. This offer beautiful view of mountains, valleys, terraced rice fields. You come to Bungalow in Nam Hong village around 05.00 pm, enjoy free time to rest.
Have dinner and overnight in Bungalow.
Day 2 : Nam Hong – Giang Thuong – Nam Khoa
Meals:breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Hoang Su Phi Bungalow
Wake up to breath fresh air among mountain and have breakfast
Today, we have full day for trekking about 12 km. From Nam Hong, we follow small trails, trek through terraced rice fields, go up to the viewpoint where you see the whole wiew of Nam Hong village. Keep trekking through bamboo forest, green tea plantation, palm hills, Dao villages. You not only admire stunning views of mountains, valleys but also learn about daily life of Dao people.
Have lunch in local family
We continue the trek to Nam Khoa where you see the most beautiful terraced rice field in Viet Nam. More spectacular views of lush forests, valleys on the small dirt road from Nam Khoa to Nam Hong
Have dinner and sleep 2nd night in Bungalow
Day 3: Nam Hong – Phin Ho – Ha Noi
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: not included
Have breakfast and check out Bungalow
We have another trekking route from Nam Hong to Phin Ho about 7 – 8 km. Along the way you pass through ethnic minority villages, bamboo forest, streams or small rivers. You look over valleys, ridgelines that give panoramic views of rice terraces far below or across ridges. Ending in Phin Ho where there are ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees – very old tea trees, you will learn how to grow and make tea – a speciality in Hoang Su Phi.
After lunch, we walk to our car and get on the car to go back Ha Noi.
Drop off you in hotel about 08.00 pm. Tour end.
Note : The rice season from July to October but the stunning views of mountains valleys is all years. We can offer 4 days 3 nights or 5 days 4 nights sleep in homestay – the traditional house of Dao people. With this itieary, if you prefer sleep a night in homestay with local people please let us know.
We have another option for this trip to save your budget. For round trip Ha Noi – Hoang Su Phi – Ha Noi by sharing limousine bus and trek with local guide but he speak little english.
