Ha Giang Loop – Journey to Karst Plateau

Ha giang is area ( formerly a province ) in North East region of Viet Nam, It shares a 270 km long border with southern China. It is famous for its dramatic limestone mountains, winding passes, deep canyons, traditional market and the colorful cultures of ethnic groups in Dong Van Karst Geo – park. This is raw, authentic adventure with lots of new and strange experiences. That can not be missed
Day 1: Ha Noi – Ha Giang – Quan Ba
Meals: lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Bungalow in Nam Dam village
At 07.00 am. The tour guide and private car pick up you at your hotel in Ha Noi. It take 6 hours to drive 330 km to Quan Ba. Enjoy scenery of peaceful countysides, tea plantations, rivers, mountain on the way.
Have lunch in street restaurant on the way
We will drive through windy road to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, where you can stop for great pictures of the impressive twin mountains (fairy bosom)
Trekking about 2 hours from Quan Ba heaven gate down to Nam Dam village through terraced hills, lush fields, traditional houses of Dao people.
Dinner and overnight in homestay of Dao people. You have opportunity talk to friendly host to learn about lifestyle, culture of Dao people.
Day 2 : Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac
Meals : breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Hoa Cuong hotel
Today, we drive on happiness road through 4 districts (MEO VAC, DONG VAN, YEN MINH, QUAN BA) . You will explore Dong Van rocky plateau with 80% of the area is covered by limestone, formed over 400 million years through different geological periods. The landscape is trully majestic with dramatic cliffs, terraced rice fields, winding mountain passes, and deep valleys.
After breakfast, We drive up and down on winding & curving passes with incredible views. You conquer slope of 3 consecutive bends, slope of 9 consecutive bends. It is famous for its deep and tighly curved.
Visit Lung Khuy cave with stunning stalacties and stalagmites.
Explore Moon stone field. It is truly strange landscape – so rocky and barren
Visit King Palace of H’Mong people. It is more than one-hundred-years which combined in 3 architectures H’Mong, Chiness and French.
Have lunch in local restaurant and pass through Dong Van town.
Drive up to Ma Pi Leng pass, it is 20 km and known as King of Passes in Viet Nam. Trekking on sky path is the most dramatic and scenic trail in Dong Van stone pleatau with expansive views of Tu San Canyon and Nho Que river deep below.
Dinner and overnight in Meo Vac town
Day 3 : Meo Vac – Nho Que River – Lung Phin – Thon Tha
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Bungalow in Thon Tha village
Have breakfast and check out hotel
Visit Meo Vac Sunday market – not only trading point but also meeting place of local ethnic minorities in the region. You will be impressed with colorful traditional clothes of hill tribles such as: H’mong, Dao, Giay, Lo Lo, Tay…( only happen on Sunday)
Note: If you miss the Sunday market in Meo Vac, a trip to another Market can be arranged depending on the departure date.
Boat trip in Nho Que river, pass through Tu San canyon. It is unique beautiful scene with mountain, canyon, river.
More driving up and down on hard hilly roads. Going through special pass shaped like M letter and enjoy stunning landscapes of mountains & valleys
Enjoy lunch in local restaurant.
Continue passing through the most breathtaking roads with winding turns and extremly majestic and impressive mountains, valleys. Somtine, we stop for photos.
When we arrive Thon Tha ( Tha village ). The landscape is peaceful, rural with pretty nature: terraced rice fields, streams, view of mountains, forested slopes. You stroll around village to see stilt house, thatched by palm leaves and explore daily life, culture of local people
Dinner and overnight in Bungalow
Day 4: Thon Tha Trekking – Ha Noi
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: not included
After breakfast, we trek 3 hours on small trails from Tha village – Khuoi My village – Lung Vai village. It offer stunning views of traditional stilt houses, terraced rice fields, bamboo forests, streams, waterfall.
Have lunch in local restaurant
We drive back Ha Noi, pass countless tea plantations, mountains and countryside villages. Sometime, we stop to visit and take photos
Back to Ha Noi, drop off you in your hotel. Tour end.
