Day 1 : Ha Noi – Mai Chau
Meal: Luch, Dinner/ Accommodation : Private room in local homestay.
– Your private car and English-speaking tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi. Depart for Mai Chau via Highway 6 (approx. 140 km), passing scenic landscapes of rice fields, sugarcane, cassava, and orange plantations.
– Stop at Thung Khe Pass to admire breathtaking mountain views, take photos, and observe daily life of the Muong ethnic people.
– Enjoy a panoramic view from Mai Chau Flag Point.
– Upon arrival in Mai Chau, enjoy a 1.5-hour walking tour through peaceful villages, green rice fields, and traditional stilt houses. Observe local people weaving clothes and scarves.
– Drive 10 km to Mai Hich, a quiet and less-visited area considered the “backyard” of Mai Chau. Check in at the homestay and enjoy lunch with your host family.
– In the afternoon, enjoy walking or biking through nearby villages (Ban Hich – Ban Den – Ban Ngoa – Sam Khoe – Ban Buoc). Admire limestone mountains, rivers, rice fields, and small suspension bridges. Experience daily life as locals work in the fields, fish, and care for their buffaloes.
– After approximately 3 hours, return to the traditional stilt house for dinner and overnight with your friendly Thai host.
Day 2 : Mai Chau – Ninh Binh
Meals : Breakfast, Lunch/ Accommodation : not included
– After breakfast, say goodbye to host in homestay and depart for Ninh Binh (approx. 142 km).
– Visit Mua Cave, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Ninh Binh, often called the “Miniature Great Wall of Vietnam.” Climb 458 stone steps to Dragon Mountain for a stunning panoramic view of Tam Coc, limestone peaks, and valleys.
– Enjoy cycling through Tam Coc, Lotus Valley, and Sunshine Valley, passing rice paddies and rural villages to discover authentic Vietnamese countryside life.
– Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
-In the afternoon, take a rowing sampan boat trip (2 guests per boat) in Sunshine Valley—a hidden gem away from the crowds. The 1.5-hour journey follows a peaceful river, passing towering limestone mountains, tranquil valleys, and two natural caves with cool, calm interiors.
– Visit Bich Dong Pagoda (Jade Cave), featuring three pagodas built into the mountainside: Lower, Middle, and Upper Pagoda. Learn about Vietnamese Buddhism and enjoy the serene atmosphere.
– Say goodbye to Ninh Binh and return to Ha Noi.
